Our Wedding
Words are not enough but I’ll try to sum it up. Every member of staff was so attentive, accommodating and professional. The venue is stunning inside and out. The bedrooms have character and luxury. Golden wedding party
I would like to say a huge "thank you" to both Candy, Peter and their staff for hosting our Golden Wedding celebrations at their wonderful hotel. They listened to what my husband and I wanted and carried out out wishes . Food was delicious, they catered for nearly 100 guests in their marque and outside covered seating area. A little gem
What a superb place to stay and eat. It is an old building with lots of character. The staff are wonderful to deal with too. It does have a courtyard for parking that is closed at night. Lovely hotel
Currently staying here and from the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a meal here and it was superb. I had lamb rump and it was very tender. Would definitely stay again.

A gem of a hotel
This is my second time at the hotel but my first time Solo. The welcome made me feel so at home. Room 5 was such a large relaxing space and so clean . Evening dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staff especially Rob and Cindy couldn’t have been nicer. Will definitely return .

Staycation stopover in this gem of a place
We booked a night at the Old Vicarage as a stopover on the way to the south west coast. First impressions - an historic and cosy oasis of calm right in the centre of town. We were made to feel welcome from the get go, shown our rooms and our dog was given a pooch pack including dog bowls and treats. After dinner which we had at the restaurant (spot on) we settled down in the bar and played cards and were really looked after by the staff who are a credit to the place. Tilly the dog was even treated to a shoulder massage which if she could talk she would be asking to go back and have another one! Breakfast was tasty - a good range of menu choices for all tastes. We'll Be Back !
To be honest, the four of us were staying for work, but we had an excellent time and only wish we could have stayed longer. The location is wonderful—a calm little oasis in the town—with lovely gardens and patio area, a bright, airy restaurant, and food that was both high quality and very welcome after our travels. Our three rooms were all great: two in the annexe and one in the historic main building. The facilities were excellent, clean, and tidy. A special pat on the back to Stacey, Head of Housekeeping—she is an absolute superstar and a real asset to your business. We loved the welcoming atmosphere, especially compared with the rather sterile hotels we usually have to use. And I won’t mention ghosts if you don’t!
