What our guests say
Posted on Sue B Friendly hotel We were a group of 11, & a dog. They were very accommodating, giving us a room for our meals so we could all be together and not bother the other guests. The food was good, and timely. All staff were really friendly. Lovely old building. The rooms were good with very old quirky features. We didn't see the ghost. Superb walled garden = plenty outdoor space.Posted on Richard G Could Have Been a Disaster On the way to the hotel the car was damaged by an object on the M4. On arrival at the hotel it became clear that it would need a major repair ( we had booked a week at the Old Vicarage and had planned to go on to Cornwall for another week but as things unfolded this was not going to be possible. We ended up staying at the hotel for the week then had to return home unfortunately. However during this time of much stress we were completely spoilt by the staff : They bent over backwards to make our stay as good as possible, we couldn't ask for more. We had our dog "Pepper" with us and she was equally totally spoilt too. The room was clean and lovely, the food excellent, the ambience and atmosphere superb but best of all the staff were AMAZING! Thank you so much - Richard, Paula and Pepper.Posted on Debs M Perfect evening!! Perfect location!! I booked an evening meal for 8 of us. We were booked into the oak panel room, lovely olde worlde deco, it was perfect for us Service was great, meals were plentiful and delicious. Overall a lovely evening in the perfect location.Posted on Acw55 Lovely overnight stay. Beautiful 'olde worlde' interior. Comfortable and clean. The owners,Pete and Candy were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. Our room was a gorgeous large 'suite' with a brass framed four poster which turned out to be wonderfully comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was first class.Posted on Jenny What a little Gem What a little gem of a hotel. We had a room with a very large 4 poster bed with views of the beer garden one way and the beautiful church the other. Spotlessly clean and pristine. Staff were very welcoming, and efficient nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was absolutely perfect, well cooked and piping hot 🔥 Thank you so much for our lovely overnight stay .Posted on Hanna W A hidden gem! Amazing service. We popped into the Old Vicarage food and drinks with friends. The service was exceptional! Nothing was too much trouble, and we were made to feel super welcome from the get go! We had focaccia and cheese boards to share between four of us, but were eyeing up lots of other plates of food coming out the kitchen. We’ll definitely be back!Posted on Marina K Charming place to stay with an excellent service. We had an amazing stay in this welcoming place. Full of character, lovely restaurant/bar, very good breakfast, clean, good value for money, and, most of all, great service and staff.Posted on William P A very enjoyable stay. What a lovely hotel. The room was lovely, the gardens were lovely, the owners an staff were excellent, the food was exceptional. Made a great fuss over our dog and supplied a pet kit for stay.
