A Dog Friendly Hotel
Bringing your dogs to The Old Vicarage Hotel
The Old Vicarage Bridgwater is a Dog Friendly Hotel, in fact we won an award for it!
We are delighted that you’re coming to stay with us and have decided to bring your pet/pets for a break too.
We welcome responsible dog owners and well-behaved pets and have a selection of dog-friendly rooms available.
We charge £15 per dog per night. This includes a whole host of doggie extras such as bowls, waterproof mats for bowls to go on, beds, treats and an emergency kit including poo bags.
We also provide details of local emergency vets and the location of nearby pet stores, incase you should need additional toys or supplies.
Should you wish to venture out for some walks in the stunning countryside that surrounds us here in Bridgwater, we’re able to provide advice on routes to try to suit all abilities and legs.
Dogs are also allowed on many of the beaches along Somerset’s heritage coast, which is just a 30-minute drive from us, during the winter months too.
Guidelines
As dog owners ourselves (read about Ben’s story here) we love our four-legged friends, but are conscious most of our guests will not be staying with pets.
In acknowledgement of this, we would respectfully ask that you take the following guidelines into account during your stay, thank you.
Inside our hotel
We log dogs, and they are allowed in the hall, stairs, your bedroom and guests’ sitting room as well as in our restaurant. Please keep your dog on a lead in the hall and on the stairs.
At The Old Vicarage Hotel we have a dedicated doggie section in the restaurant and they are welcome on our outside, covered and heated patio seating area.
We ask that dogs stay on the floor in your room. If you think it is likely that they may jump up onto the furnishings, then please cover the bed and any chairs or sofas with a waterproof throw. If you need a throw, they are available to borrow from us on request, please ask at reception.
In our garden
Dogs are most welcome in our garden but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Please clear up after your dog. Poo bags are provided in our dog-friendly rooms and are available on request from reception. A clearly marked bin is located in our garden.
We are confident that you and your pet/pets will take care of our property, but to help you do this towels to wipe muddy paws etc are available to be borrowed, if required, from reception when you return from a walk.
In the unlikely event of any spillages or damage, in any part of the hotel, then we are sure you understand that we may have to make a charge for any extra cleaning required.
We hope that you and your pet/pets enjoy your stay with us and have many wonderful and memorable walks in the countryside around us, which is perfect for dogs.
If you have any difficulties during your stay, please do alert us to these immediately and we will help resolve any issues you may have. Thank you.
