There are many places to go and things to do whilst visiting The Old Vicarage, but here are some of our favourite trips out.
Let us know if there are any that should be added to our list.
Wells Market
Wednesday/Saturday mornings
Add in a tour of the cathedral and walk around the small city. The Bishop’s Palace is fantastic with beautiful gardens – add this and make it a day trip.
You could stop off in Glastonbury on the way back or save this for another day.
Clarks Village
Clarks Village Outlet Centre, Street, a great day out coupled with a trip to nearby Glastonbury as well.
Country Walks
Famous Quantock Hills (area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) visible from Bridgwater.
Our favourite is The Great Wood – stop for a coffee at The Foxy Bean after.
Ham Wall nature reserve at Ashcott – fantastic for bird watching.
Bridgwater – walk around the local canal via the docks – have lunch at The Purple Spoon!
Porlock Weir
We love it here – have lunch at The Porlock Weir Hotel, or one of the other food outlets. Very pretty, very grown up (few kids!!!)
On the way worth a quick stop in Minehead for a walk along the front and an ice cream!
Dunster (National Trust)
Coastal
Burnham on Sea, Brean Sands or even Weston Super Mare.
Bit of “kiss me quick” and sand as far as you can sea.
Or Jurassic at Kilve with a quirky tea at Chantry Tea Gardens or good food at The Hood Arms
